Chief Mrs Osunnike Olosunde Ewenla was born to late Aare Akande Adeyinka, a renowned babalawo from Agboro village, Ota district, Ogun State. She grew up and developed to become the Yeye Osun of Amikanle in Alagbado Area, Lagos State. As often referred to as Ewenla, she has continue to develop, promote and apply the Yoruba practice of appeasing their one and only God through their many deities as to a way of finding solution to their carried problems confronting her people and for peace to reign supreme in the land.
Yeye Osun is a committed traditionalist, who is devoted to building bridges among the initiates, the adherents and the devotees of Orisha tradition in Yoruba Land with an uncommon generosity, she has continued to expand the horizon and sphere of Orisha tradition with particular reference to Obaluaye, Buuku and Osun deities in Yoruba belief syst. She is a woman of great personality with traditional touch of appeasing the Orisha and engaging them for support to the adherents and the devotees of Yoruba deities as she has continued to make immeasurable contribution to the lives of many devotees and adherents of Orisha tradition in Amikanle and it’s environ especially Yoruba Land in general.
Yeye Osun has travelled far and near to practice Osun and other Orisha tradition since she started practicing on her own in 1987 and created a niche for herself since 1994 when she started her own Orisha annual festival.
She received many awards as a good sign for her contribution to Orisha tradition and some of them are: La Comunidad Religiosa Yoruba Award in Benezuala, June 2014. Rev. SBJ Oshofa Mem. School, Award of Excellence 2015, Emirayese Development Initiative Worldwide as Chief Yeyerisa of EDI worldwide 2019, Egbsola Oyagbami Temple, Award of Excellence 2017, Abis Film Production, Affiliated to TAMPAN, Award of Excellence 2020, Metro City People Magazine, Ambassadorial – Honourin Traditional Health Service 2013 and lastly, Aborisa Isembaye Association Worldwide, Certificate of Chieftaincy, Arabirin Olobaluaye Aborisa Agbaye 2020.
