Woman Mourn as Kidnappers kill Husband and Son
Unknown gunmen killed father and son after kidnapping them from their home in Lagos. This sad incident happened on early hour of September 16, 2023.
According to Mrs. Fatima Ihunna who was the wife and the mother of the deceased said, the unknown gunmen invaded her house around 2am and forcefully adopted her husband, son and demanded for her daughter whereabouts, given her strong warning and threatening her not to called the police but unfortunately, the bad news got to her that evening of September 17, 2023, around 5 pm on the radio that two men were seen on the Edo State Expressway lying dead on the road.
Mrs. Fatima Ihunna recount her ugly ordeal with the abductors who actually tried to wipe off her family.
“I was devastated when my husband and son was abducted and killed by evil men of the underworld”
“I never knew this will turn to horror while I was still hoping they will call for random but I was worried when they demanded for my only daughter who was in Canada for her study at the time of the incident”
“They asked me to provide my daughter who was far away from Nigeria with the believe she is in possession of the Land documents and when I told them she was not in the country, they threatening to kill my husband and son which they eventually did after some hours I received their call”
“I called my daughter, Amarachi Hannah Ihunna and informed her to keep her identity for now after I broke the news of her father and brother’s death”
According to Mrs. Ihunna, while she was narrating her experience with Octagon Correspondence at the hospital bed, she suspected that her husband people were behind the kidnapping and killing of her husband and son gruesomely.
The moment the kidnappers threatening her not to report to the police and later demanded for landed document which they thought was in Amarachi custody, I knew Amarachi life is also in danger said Mrs Ihunna.
“Amarachi my only surviving daughter knew about the problem of the land sharing between her father and his brothers"
"She was aware of the trouble her father faced in the hand of his family before traveling to Canada barely a month after my family was attacked by my husband people”
“Amarachi have knowledge of the portions of land that was shared to her father from the two acres of land located at Mbaise village in Imo State, Nigeria after the death of my husband father on the 25th of October 2022”
“My husband brothers was not satisfied with the sharing by the elders of the village who followed their customs and tradition and out of jealous, his brothers started castigating him being the first born who got the largest share of their fathers property”
My husband at that time reported the issue to the police, but he was denied justice because one of his brothers was a senior police officer who was also contending with him on the land before his death.
Mrs. Ihunna also told our correspondence that her husband was left with no other choice than to report to the head of the village about the violence and threats from his brothers and they arranged for a meeting on the 27th of November 2022 but none of them showed up at the meeting before he left the village on the 28th of November 2022 for Lagos.
Ihunna said after she remembered all that has happened in the past, she concluded that she would do everything to protect her only surviving daughter Amarachi who she has already warned not to step her leg into Nigeria until the coast is clear.
“I know I am not an Igbo woman, that was why my in-laws Mr. Ugo to Ihunna and Mr. Eze Ihunna are seriously want my daughter Amarachi to sign deed of sales of her father land on October 10, 2023 after her father’s death for them”
“I was so humiliated and turn to subject of ridicule by my in-laws because I am from Yoruba part and since I did not allow them to get access to my daughter to sign the authorization paper to sell the land”
“It became apparent that they would stop at nothing to get their hands on the coveted documents and claim the properties for themselves since they could not get my daughter”
Mrs. Ihunna called on good people of Nigeria and security agencies to come to her aid before her husband people will kill her and take over what is rightfully belong to her only surviving daughter Amarachi since they know she is not in the country presently.
